There are our curry and teriyaki menu and here is a trivia for you. Japanese do not eat teriyaki so often and I have NEVER seen salmon teriyaki in Japan! And also we eat Sushi quite less time than American expect. Personally, I have sushi three or four times a YEAR, not a week! I really like sushi but it is not a regular meal for Japanese. In contract, we eat curry a lot! Every children love curry and I think that every family have their own recipe to make it. We have our own way to make it and it is a secret. Try ours and I hope you like it!

Pork Cutlet Curry $9.50
Deep fried pork cutlet on the top and comes with a salad. Our curry tastes mild.

Chicken Teriyaki Curry $9.50

Chicken Teriyaki $9.50
Comes with a salad, miso soup, and ball of rice. If you would like to have a soup first, feel free to ask. Just let us know!

Salmon Teriyaki $9.75

I think that some of you had notified that there was no 7 between 6.Hour& Map and 8.About Us in the categories. Here is 7 category now! This is the first word you hear when you enter into our place! It means Welcome!

Irasshaimase!

You may think it is too long to remember or hard to pronounce it? Here is a solution! A friend of mine, who has learned Japanese for more than 10 years, tries to remember and pronounce Japanese word by representing in English word. Take a look!

E lash eye ma say.

It looks much better than the original one!

e for eBay.
lash eye sounds like eyelash and just switch the first part and the last part.
ma for Grandma.
Let’s say it three times with me.

E lash eye ma say!
E lash eye ma say!!
E lash eye ma say!!!

You have already got it! I believe that it’s always fun to learn something new in our lives. If you would like to listen to this word, just visit to our place! We always warmly e-lash-eye-ma-say you!

1 Year Anniversary!! December 11, 2009

This Tuesday was our 1 year anniversary! Thank you for all!

And one more thing. It was the last day I work at Udon West 46. I had always felt that our place is like my home. My manager was like my grandfather, executive chef was like my father, owner was like my brother/drinking buddy, and all chefs, waiters, and waitress were like my brothers and sisters. I had so much fun, precious, and unforgettable time with them since I started to work there in January. The time I spent at Udon West was just like a wonderful gift from them. I always had thought that I really want to give them back something in return and that was the reason why I created this blog.

I cannot tell them how much I had loved our place and enjoyed working. Arigatou!I will miss our customers and my family in New York.

Even though I’m going back to Japan, I will continue to edit this blog for a while because I still have many pictures of our dishes and I would like to show them to you through this blog! m
